DR. THUY TRAN

OPTOMETRIST & FOUNDER

Dr. Tran was born and raised by Vietnamese-immigrant parents in the San Francisco Bay Area. She grew up loving the idea of becoming a writer and was a student journalist during her undergraduate studies. Upon graduating college, she volunteered on a medical mission to Vietnam. While there, she helped provide eye care to thousands of poor villagers who lacked access to healthcare. It was then that she realized that optometry was her calling.

After earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry, Dr. Tran moved to New York City. She spent most of her career working in ophthalmology practices where she focused heavily on managing ocular pathologies including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and advanced dry eye disease. She also works extensively with the pediatric population to manage conditions such as myopia, strabismus, and amblyopia.

Over the last decade, Dr. Tran has been dedicated to giving every patient the very best eye care that they deserve. She is excited to continue bringing high-quality, personalized service to all of her patients at Oculist.
